Lindsey H. Loftus, Executive Director

Lindsey joins The Portage Foundation after serving as Assistant Vice President for Major, Planned and Principal Gifts at Lander University in Greenwood, S.C. Lindsey also served NEOMED as Senior Development Officer at Northeast Ohio Medical University (NEOMED) and Executive Director of the Alumni Association at Kent State University. Prior to his tenure at Kent State, Lindsey was the Director of Marketing for the University of Pittsburgh Alumni Association.

Lindsey holds a bachelor’s degree from Kent State University as well as a M.Ed. from the University of Pittsburgh and a second master’s degree in Philanthropy and Development from Saint Mary’s University in Winona, MN. He brings more than 32 years of Advancement experience with a focus in relationship management, marketing and communications, and major gift fund raising.

Active in the community, Lindsey was a volunteer leader for the Council for Advancement and Support of Education (CASE), as well as a youth league baseball coach for nine seasons. An avid runner, he has competed in several marathons and ultramarathons including the Boston marathon in 2000 and the Burning River 100-mile ultramarathon in 2014.

Lindsey and his wife, Sheryl, have been married for 31 years. They have two sons, Timothy, and Daniel. Interestingly, all four members of the Loftus family hold bachelor’s degrees from Kent State University.

Cheyenne Goss, Foundation Specialist

Cheyenne Goss joined the Portage Foundation as the Community Foundation Specialist in December 2019. Cheyenne graduated from Kent State University with BS in Human Development & Family Studies as well as an AAS in Business Administration.

Cheyenne brings exceptional skills in visual marketing, community relations, and non-profit program development. Immediately following her time at Kent State, Cheyenne was employed as a social worker for SAFY, a therapeutic foster care agency in Stark County. She developed a passion for non-profit operations and philanthropy.  Prior to joining the Foundation, Cheyenne served as Merchandise Coordinator for the Pro Football Hall of Fame working closely with high-level sponsors. With more than 5 years of experience in human services and business operations,  Cheyenne is perfectly suited for this role.

As a young professional, Cheyenne brings a wealth of innovative and powerful ideas that continue to strengthen the Foundation’s mission and services.
