Portage Foundation Hosts Non-Profit Conference

CORE 2023 Brings Local Non-Profit Organizations Together for Professional Development

The Portage Foundation will be hosting a daylong conference on April 21, 2023, to help local non-profit organizations’ staff, boards and volunteers strengthen and develop key skills to build resiliency. The CORE 2023 conference is designed for non-profit groups of all sizes.

The CORE 2023 programming for the day will start with a panel discussion of non-profit board members, facilitated by Bill Childers from United Way of Portage County. Following the discussion will be a keynote address from Rebecca Jacklin, Director, Nonprofit Strategy. The keynote speaker is sponsored by PNC Bank.

After lunch and best-practices sharing discussion, registrants will be able to select from breakout sessions feature experts in non-profit management and covering topics including: Reconnecting with a Disengaged Board; Spring Clean and Maximize Your Donor Database; and Personality Styles.

“We look forward to creating a space for non-profit staff and volunteers to network with one another, strengthen skills, discover new ways to help their organizations, and build a stronger community overall,” said Scott Taylor, Portage Foundation Executive Director. “We hope to have the CORE Non-Profit Conference become an annual event.”

The CORE 2023 Non-Profit Conference will be held at the Kent State University Conference Center, located in downtown Kent, on April 21 from 8:30 am to 3:30 pm. The $100 registration fee includes the full programming as well as a continental breakfast, sponsored by KeyBank, and lunch.
