Connecting People and Building Community

Our events bring people together to learn, connect, and support the work that strengthens our community. Each year, the Foundation hosts a variety of engaging and meaningful events designed to inspire generosity, share knowledge, and celebrate the people who make our mission possible. From educational opportunities like our Community Speaker Series and CORE Workshops for Nonprofit Organizations, to signature fundraisers such as the Experience Portage County online auction, to our annual Donor Appreciation event, these gatherings play a vital role in building connections and creating lasting impact throughout Portage County.

The Portage Foundation is a charitable organization created by and for a community of people. It is supported by local donors and governed by a board of private citizens who work toward the greater good of the community. Funds come from a variety of sources, including bequests and living trusts, and are invested in perpetuity. The investment earnings are then distributed to worthy organizations or causes.
