The Portage Foundation Fund for the Environment is a long-standing, endowed fund that supports local nonprofit organizations working on projects that protect and restore the natural resources that sustain our region. Through grants and partnerships, the fund helps expand green spaces, protect waterways, restore habitats, and support community-led environmental initiatives.

Previous grant recipients include research monitoring equipment, habitat restoration, and recreational programs to further connect area residents to available parks.
Distributions from the fund are made to Portage area nonprofits and programs during our annual grant cycle. Grant recipients are selected based on recommendations of our Grants Committee and approval of the Board of Trustees.
