J.D. Langguth believed in working hard, taking care of your family, and giving back to your community. A lifelong Portage County resident, devoted father, and union tradesman, J.D. took great pride in both his family and his work—and in the Rootstown community he called home.
Created by J.D., his wife Stephanie, and their children, the scholarship provides a head start for graduating Rootstown students, with a preference for those involved in Rootstown Wrestling, who are pursuing careers in the skilled trades. Scholarship support can help students with tuition and fees or provide the tools they need to begin their careers.
More than financial assistance, the scholarship honors the character J.D. lived by: hard work, generosity, commitment, and pride in helping others build a rewarding life.
