Created by his husband, Lis, the MJ Eckhouse Memorial Fund honors MJ’s legacy of advocacy, creativity, and commitment to a more just and engaged society. MJ was a valued member of the Ohio Environmental Council community, where his work helped advance environmental protection, civic engagement, and the connection between a healthy environment and a strong democracy.
The fund supports organizations working to strengthen LGBTQ+ communities, encourage civic participation, and protect and advance democracy. By supporting groups such as the League of Women Voters, the fund carries MJ’s spirit forward through the work of organizations that help people engage, advocate, and create positive change.
